On Friday, March 22nd, over 25 New Vitae Wellness and Recovery employees met to celebrate the work of Mr. Ronald Tucker. Ron officially retired after almost twenty years of service. We were happy to celebrate Ron’s incredible accomplishments with his peers as well as Ron’s wife, Karen. The group shared lunch at the Brick Tavern and recalled several stories that reflected Ron’s supportive spirit and calm, responsive demeanor throughout his years at New Vitae.
Ron started working at New Vitae in 1999 as a Therapeutic Support Staff person, assisting residents with learning effective coping skills and developing independence through practice. Later, Ron assisted the Young Adult Program as a Unit Supervisor and helped the program to grow into downtown Quakertown. Ron then transitioned to working within the Pathways Program, assisting many apartment residents with achieving their goals related to living more independently.
During the party, multiple employees had mixed emotions – all were happy for Ron, but sad to be losing his daily presence in the office. Almost everyone identified Ron’s talent when diffusing tense situations and his ability to engage residents of all different ages and backgrounds. Ron has the capacity to create meaningful connections with both staff and employees and will be dearly missed!
Congratulations on your retirement, Ron!
