New Vitae Quakertown House is a fully renovated, updated Victorian Home that reflects the charm of Bucks County and encourages community connections via local shopping, parks, swimming pools, and theater options. The home has a capacity for 65 residents and provides the supports associated with personal care home living with the choices for socialization through Quakertown area activities. New Vitae Quakertown House staff is available 24 hours a day in order to deliver holistic care and encourage the achievement of residents’ recovery goals.

Amenities at New Vitae Quakertown House

New Vitae Quakertown House provides local transportation to appointments and three nutritious meals with snacks daily. The dedicated, professional staff encourages peer-to-peer relationships through options for routine activities, including a weekly group discussion focused on personal recovery. Residents are encouraged to socialize and utilize peer relationships to promote lasting positive change and share support. Quakertown House combines the comforts of home with the services essential to maintaining personal wellness.

Medication Administration

Medications are administered through the efforts of trained staff who provide assistance and education regarding medication.

Holistic Care

The Director of Wellness and other staff members are available to assist with the development of healthy living skills. Quakertown House staff routinely provides support at medical appointments in order to ensure continuing care for residents’ health concerns.

Individualized Supports

Staff members work closely with each resident to review options for services that include community groups, volunteer opportunities, and other choices to determine what functions may work best. Each resident has a Resident Assessment-Support Plan (RASP) to guide their services and document preferences for services.

Spirituality Supports

Quakertown House is able to facilitate routine visits to local centers of worship and spirituality centers. Additional practices, including yoga, meditation, and other spiritual activities are regularly explored, and residents have the option to meet with a visiting chaplain.

Vocational Assistance

Quakertown House residents have the opportunity to work in our Prevocational Work Program. The program offers the opportunity for work shadowing and assistance while developing a resident’s resume to prepare for competitive work options. Our staff also works with residents for successful referrals to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR).

Routine Trips

Staff members encourage participants to utilize the frequent trips that permit community connections. Visits to local 12-Step support groups, shopping centers, museums, parks, concerts, and other local attractions occur routinely in order to encourage additional peer-to-peer contact and socialization in the larger Quakertown and Lehigh Valley communities (and beyond).

Peer-led Opportunities

Emphasizing the importance of peer contact, residents have the opportunity to participate in the Quakertown House Resident Council. In this way, residents can provide direct feedback to staff and other leaders regarding their experiences. It also permits the development of leadership skills for the residents who choose to participate. House meetings and less formal peer-to-peer activities provide additional opportunities for building healthy relationships.

House Sponsored Events

Quakertown House emphasizes the value of community by hosting various events for residents. Culture days, dances, picnics, games, crafts, basketball games, baseball games, and holiday parties are enjoyed by staff and residents. Day trips to Philadelphia, camping trips, and a yearly excursion to Cape May, New Jersey are additional ways to explore and connect with personal interests.

Benefits/Care Coordination

Quakertown House provides care coordination services to assist with establishing or continuing benefits, to encourage community connections, and to provide personalized supports throughout residents’ participation in services. Care coordinators are advocates for residents and assist with strengthening family connections through routine contact.

Family members, friends, and supportive allies are always welcome to visit. Quakertown House also celebrates a variety of events that promote family, peer, and ally connections, including seasonal celebrations and holiday activities.
