Jim’s Peace Patio Dedicated at Quakertown House
At New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, we recently celebrated Jim’s Peace Patio dedication at Quakertown House—a beautiful tribute to a beloved former resident. We believe in the power of connection, remembrance, and creating spaces that bring joy and healing. Recently, our Quakertown House community gathered to celebrate the dedication of a newly revitalized courtyard in memory of Jim, a cherished former resident.
Jim lived at Quakertown House for many years and was well known for his love of nature and the outdoors. He often found peace and happiness in the side courtyard, a place where he could relax, reflect, and connect with others. After his passing, Jim’s father wanted to ensure his son’s memory would continue to live on. He generously donated to the New Vitae Wellness Foundation, asking that something lasting be created for the community Jim called home.
With support from the Foundation, the courtyard was completely transformed. Long-standing drainage issues were resolved, and beautiful stamped concrete was installed for the patio and walkway. A new fence and door were added for privacy and accessibility, alongside fresh landscaping, shaded tables, benches, and umbrellas to enhance comfort and enjoyment.
One special bench bears an engraving in Jim’s memory. The space was named Jim’s Peace Patio following a vote by residents and staff—an idea warmly approved by Jim’s father. Our woodshop team crafted a custom sign to mark the space, now proudly displayed above the door leading into the patio.
To celebrate the official opening, residents and staff gathered for an afternoon of connection, reflection, and free water ice—a sweet and meaningful way to honor Jim’s spirit.
Jim’s Peace Patio is more than just a beautiful outdoor area—it’s a lasting tribute to a life that touched many and a symbol of how the New Vitae Wellness Foundation helps turn remembrance into impact and care into community.
