On November 6th, a very special display that features a quilt to honor local Veterans was installed in the Lehigh County Courthouse. New Vitae Wellness and Recovery staff members and Veterans were invited to this moving tribute. Veterans who participate in services, including a member of the 182nd Airborne (Army) were present for the dedication of the quilt, made with materials and time donated by Veterans or those who support Veterans. Each of the 240 quilting squares included the name of someone who served in one of the branches of the armed forces. The event provided the opportunity for participants to honor Veterans and for Veterans to have the opportunity to share their stories in a supportive environment. Special thanks to District Attorney Jim Martin and Maureen McManus for their work in completing and displaying a beautiful piece of shared history, and for providing the opportunity to honor local Veterans and those still serving. New Vitae Wellness and Recovery was proud to assist Veterans with viewing this piece of historic art. We continue to provide no- or low-cost residential and clinical services for Veterans through our DMVA appropriation.
