Summer Fun at New Vitae Wellness and Recovery

New Vitae’s residents and staff have been enjoying the summer through participation in a variety of events!  From our Philadelphia sites to our residential options in Bucks and Lehigh Counties, we are happy to be able to share news of all the fun!

First, all of our sites had the opportunity to enjoy a sweet treat through visits from Sweet Scoops Ice Cream Truck up north and Mr. Softee in Philadelphia, all during the heat of July.  Commemorating New Vitae’s Founders Day as well as National Ice Cream Month, our residents and staff shared the opportunity to enjoy a cup, cone, sundae, or water ice in the midst of the summer.  It was a fantastic way to enjoy each other’s company, engage in a fun activity, and share a wonderful dessert!

Additionally, the staff at New Vitae Wellness and Recovery’s Quakertown House were able to offer residents the opportunity for extra summer fun at a luau on Thursday, July 22nd.  Two families donated additional financial support to further assist with planning and making the day extra special.  Residents and staff enjoyed the summer weather with a bean bag toss, limbo, pass the coconut, a hula hoop contest, balloon toss, and a relay race.  Food options included skewered shrimp, pineapple chicken, pulled pork, and pineapple upside-down cake, and ambrosia for dessert.  It was a fantastic day that included special decorations and lots of fun!

Finally, our Philadelphia RTFA’s enjoyed watching the Summer Olympics and sharing in their own “New Vitae Olympic Games.”  After watching the many competitions associated with the Olympic Sports, our West Philadelphia sites celebrated the first-ever “New Vitae Olympics” over the weekend of July 24th and 25th.   Residents participated in “Minute to Win It” games, including cup stacking, junk in the trunk, and a few more!  Residents celebrated along with the 2021 Olympics, with participants joining together for laughs and to share a good time!

Overall, the summer has been fun for our residents and staff and we look forward to additional planning as we gradually move into the fall season!
