New Vitae Wellness Foundation Commemorates World Suicide Prevention Day
The New Vitae Wellness Foundation was proud to offer a no-cost training to commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day. At the virtual event held on Sept. 10, 2020, we were honored to host guest speakers Jordan Burnham and Brandon Everett, RN, BSN, CMT, who offered specific practices and insights to assist with reducing suicidal behaviors.

COVID-19 Delays New Vitae’s Yearly Cape May Trip
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of new safety measures were required to protect the health and well-being of our residents. Sadly, our annual Cape May Trip for residents needed to be postponed as a result of the challenges associated with the coronavirus. However, New Vitae staff used their creativity to honor this yearly tradition and bring fun activities to our residents.

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Wins Golden Bowtie Awards
New Vitae’s Philadelphia Services were honored with two Golden Bowtie Awards from the Beck Institute Center for Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R). Earning one award for an employee and one for New Vitae as a whole, we are proud of our work on and dedication to applying the practice of CT-R in our Philadelphia supports.

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Hosts Paper Airplane Contest for Residents
New Vitae Wellness and Recovery residents and staff enjoyed participating in a variety of fun activities this fall, including a virtual talent show, a scarecrow building contest, and a paper airplane contest, all to encourage creativity during these challenging times. It was definitely time to soar when it came to testing paper airplanes! Residents won awards for paper airplanes with the longest flights, and several were honored with awards for best decorations! We had lots of fun flying these imaginative planes and celebrated with the winners!

New Vitae Recognizes Employee for 25 Years of Service
We offer special congratulations to Adele Lemak, who is celebrating her 25th year of service with New Vitae Wellness and Recovery! After playing a critical role in our residential services for many years, Adele now serves as the Recovery Center Office Manager, assisting with Joint Commission accreditation and helping to resolve insurance challenges for residents and community members.

Marc Phillip, M.Ed., MS, serves as New Vitae Wellness and Recovery’s Administrator, Pathways. Offering direct support to residents in our Pathways program as well as facilitating wellness activities for staff members, Marc has been able to create additional community ties that have supported individual and company-wide goals. Veteran Supports
In order to respond to the unique needs of Veterans, New Vitae Wellness and Recovery has developed specialized supports that can facilitate wellness for men and women who have served in our armed forces. Utilizing the recovery model, we are able to offer behavioral health and addiction services to support Veterans in achieving person-centered wellness goals. We also are able to assist Veterans who have experienced a traumatic brain injury to further improve independent living skills and secure Veteran peer-to-peer supports. We are honored to offer services to those who have served our country.

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery’s Action Recovery Brain Injury services recently were reaccredited by CARF, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, for another three years. Additionally, these supports were recognized by the Academy of Brain Injury Specialists Alliance, in which we are honored to be Silver Members.
