New Vitae Wellness and Recovery was happy to attend the 2015 Fall Conference for the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) in Phoenix, AZ. The IECA, a not-for-profit, international professional organization, assists families with college planning, school advising, and therapeutic placements. The conference saw hundreds of IECA members and attendees come together to share expertise and assistance to best help the families and students they serve.
Lisa Snyder Gnasso, M.Ed, Ed. S., New Vitae’s Education Coordinator, shared information related to our continuum of behavioral supports in various workshops. Many attendees agreed that the highlight of the conference was an inspirational lecture by New York Times bestselling author Michael Gurian, entitled “The Minds of Boys: How to Help Boys Do Their Best in School and Life.” Michael addressed learning differences between the genders and suggested tools to support and care for young adults in a high-pressure world.
Lisa is looking forward to attending more conferences in the future to grow our supports for traditional and non-traditional learners!
