The New Vitae Wellness Foundation, in conjunction with DeSales University’s Nursing Department and New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, invites you to register to attend our next complimentary community training titled, “Mindful Emotional Regulation: Treating Depression and Suicidal Behaviors.”

Guest speakers Jordan Burnham and Brandon Everett, RN, BSN, CMT, will discuss the challenges associated with behavioral health treatment and the benefits of mindfulness practice.  Burnham, a mental health advocate and survivor of a suicide attempt, offers a firsthand perspective on mental health care and recovery.  After having his story featured in various magazines, including PEOPLE and Sports Illustrated, and participating as a guest on a number of television shows, he was invited to address a Congressional briefing in 2008 and attended the National Conference on Mental Health in 2013, hosted by President Obama and Vice President Biden.

Brandon Everett, RN, BSN, CMT, first recognized the challenges associated with depression while working as a Registered Nurse for a cardiac intensive care unit.   Following extensive training to better understand mindfulness and graduating from a rigorous Meditation Teacher Training program, he has presented the process to a number of audiences to facilitate better mental health.  Emphasizing the practical application of mindfulness to daily life, he was honored to co-facilitate Philadelphia’s first Trauma-Informed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program.

Please join us at DeSales University on April 21st from 9 to 11 am to join the conversation on this important topic.  There is no cost to attend; Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) are pending.
