On June 27, 2018, New Vitae Wellness and Recovery’s Adam Devlin, Board Chair, and Donna Devlin, Executive Administrator, were honored to meet local political leaders at a book signing event for former New Jersey Governor James Florio.  Mr. Florio’s memoir, entitled, “Standing on Principle: Lessons Learned in Public Life,” reviews the challenges associated with public service and the personal values Mr. Florio found to be most critical to his campaign.

The Devlins welcomed the opportunity to have their book copy signed by Mr. Florio; the couple also met with former Philadelphia Mayor and Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell, who engaged in a fireside chat with Mr. Florio.  Both former governors discussed their personal stories of accomplishments and challenges while in office.  Adam and Donna also had the opportunity to catch up with Charles Horton, the Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office on People with Disabilities, on which Adam serves as the chair of the Behavioral Health Committee. Adam was able to share details on our new residential behavioral health options available for veterans.  Overall, it was a wonderful night to learn more about the challenges associated with public office and to support a variety of local elected officials!
