New Vitae Wellness and Recovery was pleased to sponsor a “First Day of Spring” blood drive on March 20th, 2019, to benefit Miller-Keystone Blood Center. A total of 13 units of blood were collected by the mobile team, who assisted routine and new donors through the process. Several employees and residents were proud to donate blood for the first time!
Blood donation is critical to improve the health of our community. It is estimated that someone needs blood once every two seconds as a result of blood related diseases, accidents, or other reasons. For each donation, up to three individuals’ lives may be saved. Donating blood is one of the most direct ways to help those in need.
All of the individuals who donated at the New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Center were entered to win movie passes. Congratulations to Conner Miller for being the day’s winner! Special thanks to everyone who donated blood and assisted with the day’s events, including Kathrine Everett for assisting with scheduling! We look forward to hosting another drive in the future!
